Consisting of one control unit and three expansiion bays, this unit comes with 24 LTO2 FC drives and 1,426 slots. This library has a license for 700 of the 1,426 slots. LTO 2 drives have a native capacity of 200GB and compressed capacity of 400GB. Total storage capacity of this i2000 is 280TB compresssed (700 slots x 400GB). The Scalar i2000 library features the Quantum iPlatform architecture and integral iLayer management software which gives end users an unmatched level of control over the backup process. iPlatform provides a server-class main controller, distributed control processors, and I/O blades, all linked by an embedded communications area network. The iLayer management software dramatically improves the manageability of the enterprise backup process by integrating advanced diagnostics services, library resource management, and I/O management inside the library.
